Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2025
What we collect
- URLs you scan — the addresses you submit are fetched and analyzed server-side. Public (unauthenticated) scans are not stored in any database.
- IP address — used solely for rate limiting login attempts. Not logged or stored beyond the rate-limit window.
- Session cookie — a signed, HTTP-only cookie that keeps you logged in. Contains no personal information.
- Crawl data — if you use the authenticated multi-page crawl feature, crawl results (URLs, grades, issues) are stored in a local database on the server to power the dashboard.
What we don't collect
- No analytics or tracking scripts
- No third-party cookies
- No advertising pixels
- No personal information beyond what's listed above
Third-party services
CrawlHound uses the Google PageSpeed Insights API when you select the Speed Test or Full Audit scan types. In those cases, the URL you submit is sent to Google's servers for analysis. Google's privacy policy applies to that data. No other third-party services receive your data.
Data retention
Public scan results are not persisted. Authenticated crawl data is stored on the server until manually deleted. Session cookies expire after 24 hours.
Data sharing
Your data is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising.
